Just a simple and basic vest // slipover pattern inspired by Doug Funnie because I wanted to be able to wear it over a tee shirt or other garments. This is a great base pattern for color-work and is beginner friendly. FIT The fit is a bit boxy, short, and has dropped armholes so you CLASSIC VEST

In early 2020 I applied for the Haystack Mountain School of Craft’s Annual Residency, a two week period of freedom in which you can do anything in any studio while being fed and accommodated. I love the fit of a vintage sweatshirt. It draws in at the waist, it’s short and wide, the neck is somehow perfect. I wanted to make the perfect brioche sweater based on that classic fit. When I stopped in to my LYS Knit One Quilt Too in Barrington, RI I found the perfect yarn BRIOCHE BUBBLE CREW PATTERN

This pattern is sort of a what-took-me-so-long situation. I obviously just needed to sit down and write the pattern. I’m so glad I did because the hand knit version is even better than the original which is machine knit. The real thing that got me into it again was being excited about the yarn.
